About the InniBos Kunstefees

Every year the Innibos Arts Festival welcomes an influx of people to Nelspruit, in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Recently, these people have exceeded 100 000 in number. In the annual Fiesta Awards in Cape Town, Innibos was voted the country’s most popular festival and, watching the attendance numbers escalate every year, this is not surprising.

Innibos began in 2003 and attracts locals and tourists to flock from all over to share in the fun and celebrations.

Being an arts festival, Innibos focuses on theatre and children’s theatre, cabaret, literature, dancing, drama, and so on. More than 200 artists, actors and musicians attend it each year, eager to showcase their talents and creative ingenuity, and to receive feedback, inspiration and comments from their valued spectators.

In addition to the fabulous performances and exquisite exhibitions, Innibos is also about the arts, crafts and food stalls that create such a vibrant epicentre for the festival. Hundreds of stalls are open for the entire duration of the festival, which usually spans four days. These lure the festival visitors to browse around for hours on end, exploring the local talents and finding some real gems in the ingenuity and creativity of local artists.

To make the Innibos Festival as convenient and accessible as possible, a shuttle service is available to those attending.

The restaurant and beer garden provide a retreat for those wanting some snacks and refreshments amidst the excitement, hustle and bustle of the festival. Awesome food and a cold beer make for the perfect recipe for an ideal day. While parents are enjoying the stalls, performances or time-out with their friends, their kids can be kept out of mischief in the children’s entertainment area, which is fully-equipped to keep young minds and bodies active within a safe environment.

Plenty of competitions promise at least some of the festival visitors that they’ll be leaving laden with a lot more than they bargained for. This creates a tangible buzz of excitement and celebration around the event.
