There are few combinations that equal more fun than kids and water. Throw in some Western Cape hospitality and a balmy South African summer, and you have the winning formula. Waterworld Strand is all about sunny fun for the whole family.

Waterworld is situated right on the beaches of Strand (just outside Cape Town), inviting visitors and locals to indulge in both the beach and the water park at their leisure. It is idyllically nestled at the foot of the Hottentots Holland Mountain Range, about 50 kilometres from the Mother City and all that is has to offer (including an international airport).

While the focus at Waterworld is certainly on the slides and rides, there is also plenty more to enjoy. The slides include a speed slide, super tube and kiddies’ double speed slide. In addition, there are a number of swimming pools in which to cool down and play. The pools are solar heated so that, even on a slightly cooler day, they are comfortable and refreshing. Thanks to the layout, the whole water park enjoys relative protection from the wind.

There are a number of grassy areas that are great for picnics, relaxing with friends and sun tanning. Jungle gyms, a climbing wall and an adventure play area are all par for the course at this exciting water park.

The Son Surf School is situated at Waterworld Strand for those wanting to learn to surf the waves, or to hire the equipment that they need. This is really convenient, as the beach is right on the water park’s doorstep.

The Waterside Café is on site to provide swimmers, their friends, and parents with snacks and refreshments. Italian coffees and cappuccinos, as well as toasted sandwiches, hot chips, and a range of delicious sweets all make Waterside Café a popular spot. Pizzas are also available here on weekends and during the school holidays. Special packages can be arranged for larger groups, school outings and formal parties or celebrations.
