White Water Kayaking at Champagne Castle Adventure Centre

Take an introduction course to white water kayaking and try the Eskimo roll - White water kayaking for beginners and experts - At our base we have the perfect set-up for first timers who would like to give kayaking a go for the first time. Firstly we jump on the dam for a few basic paddling techniques.

We also use this time to introduce the Eskimo roll and to practice a wet exit (bailing out of the kayak should you fall over). Just a quick walk from our office runs the Sterkspruit which has plenty of water in the summer season to kayak down. The section that we do with the beginner kayaker has class 1-2 rapids and is a very safe environment for the first timer.

If you have more experience we can take you to the surrounding rivers. In the Cathedral Peak area runs the Mlambonja river which offers excellent class 2-3 rapids. This river is a typical pool drop. For the more advanced kayaker the Injisuthi river offers a half day of class 3-4 creeking.
