Sunday Morning Concerts at the South African State Theatre - The Black Tie Ensemble has always set a high standard for its Sunday Morning Concerts, and these concerts featuring prominent works from the operatic repertoire promises to surpass the expectations of all opera lovers. These concerts generally feature Ensemble members performing solos, as well as in ensemble works. The Black Tie Opera Chorus also participate in the concerts from time to time. This is Sunday morning entertainment at its best.
Sunday Morning Concerts offer an alternative to music lovers who do not wish to attend evening concerts. Since the inception of the Sunday Morning Concerts in 2002, the audience has expanded steadily, including seasoned opera-goers as well as new audiences across the cultural spectrum. As part of the outreach programme of The Black Tie Ensemble, room is provided for fifty learners from secondary school choirs from the community.
