Do a Basic Climbing Course with GoVertical Adventures

We meet at the GoVertical Adventure office, a stately old farm house situated in the foothills of the Magaliesberg, at 9 o’clock. After issuing you your gear we head up the scenic route to the top of the Magaliesberg Mountains. We will be doing our climbing course in a spectacular area where the view over the Hartebeespoort Valley adds to the experience.

We find a comfortable shady spot to start our climbing instruction, beginning with basic rope work, knots, climbing equipment, safety, belaying and climbing techniques. The course involves top rope climbing, the perfect way to get to grips with the rock. We concentrate on discovering your natural ability to climb. By the end of the day you should be confident enough to tackle routes in a climbing gym or belay a partner with competence. You’ll be able to relax during lunch before tackling the highlight of the adventure, a climb to the top of the Magaliesberg escarpment. We then wind our way down through the trees and back to the farm. You can relax at GoVertical’s well stocked Summit Pub while overlooking the valley or perhaps cool off in our pool.

This is an adventure suitable for anyone wanting to get outdoors and experiment with the sport of rock climbing.

No experience is necessary. We supply all the climbing gear, entrance fees, lunch and GoVertical Mountaineering guides. This is a full day adventure ending around 16h00. We take a minimum booking of 2 people, unless there is a scheduled adventure to join.
