Situated in Sandton, one of Johannesburg’s most affluent suburbs The Country Club is one of the finest golfing facilities on the African continent. Here more than 600 hectares have been devoted to the game of golf. Two championship golf courses, 180 species of bird, 14 dams, an abundance of fish and the finest grounds any golfer could ask for lay here in wait for you. And visitors are always welcome.
Both courses here at The Country Club are in exquisite condition. Woodmead is the older (opened in 1968) and shorter course (200m shorter) and Rockland’s is the younger one (opened in 1993) and measures a monumental 7000m in length. The courses are said to complement each other and you’ll be hard pressed to find someone that’ll say either one is “the best.?
Both courses are absolutely breath taking, especially in the wetter summer months, the fairways and greens are surrounded by large trees, sculpted bunkers and deceptive dams. Any serious golfing enthusiast already has The Country Club on their must-play list.
Facilities are top class and include all that you have come to expect from South Africa’s high ranking and well maintained golf courses.
