Nashua Art in the Park is celebrating its 50th anniversary from 30 May to 3 June 2012 at Alexandra Park, Pietermaritzburg. It is a picturesque venue on the banks of the Umsunduzi River, under a grove of plane trees that obligingly sheds its leaves for a splendorous autumn show. The preparations and planning for the event is extensive, and the transformation from the park as it is everyday to the wondrous “art gallery under the stars” contributes in making this event one of South Africa’s top outdoor art-selling exhibitions.
