Lying on the other side of the Keurbooms River from Plettenberg Bay, Keurboomstrand (or beach) lies on an enviable part of the Garden Route, highly popular for camping, fishing and swimming. But don't let the idea of holiday fever crowds deter you during the off season, as the views and beach at Keurbooms Strand are pretty spectacular. From George Airport:
1. Exit George Airport and turn right onto the R404, continuing for 100 m.
2. Turn left onto the N2 and follow the signs towards Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, and Port Elizabeth.
3. Continue on the N2 for 85.3 km until you reach the Plettenberg Bay roundabout.
4. At the roundabout, take the second exit to stay on the N2 and continue for 1.6 km.
5. Keep left for 350 m.
6. Merge back onto the N2 and drive for 5.9 km.
7. Turn right into Keurboomsrivier Road (partially restricted usage road) and continue for 2.2 km.
8. Arrive at the Strandmeer Estate entrance. At the intercom, dial number 67 and your host will grant access.
9. Follow the road for 800 m until you see the signage for Rivertides Estate. Samphire is located opposite, on the left-hand side.
