The little hamlet of Simondium lies at the upper point of a triangle with Stellenbosch and Franschhoek on the R45 and, because it is the lesser known of the three, tends to be described in terms of the other two towns, with little to warrant a visit in its own right. From Cape Town International Airport:
1. Exit the Airport: Head toward Freight Road (64 m), then exit the roundabout onto Airport Approach Road (290 m). Stay in the middle lane for 1.2 km.
2. Hit the N2 East: Use the left lane to merge onto Settlers Way (the N2) via the ramp heading toward Somerset West (450 m). Settle in on the N2 for 5.6 km.
3. The R300 Link: Take exit 22A toward R300/Bellville (1.5 km) and merge onto the Kuils River Road (R300). Follow this highway for 14.0 km.
4. Onto the N1: Use any lane to merge onto the N1 heading toward Paarl/Worcester and stay on it for 29.1 km.
5. Take the Exit: Look out for exit 55 for the R45/R101 toward Franschhoek/Paarl/Main Road (450 m).
6. Into Wine Country: Turn right onto Main Road/R101/R45 (1.2 km), then turn left onto the R45 and follow it for 6.8 km through the valley.
7. The Final Turn: Turn right onto the estate's restricted usage access road.
8. Plaisir Wine Estate will be just 71 meters ahead on your left-hand side.
