The name Waterstone stems from the bonding of two natural elements; one a symbol of foundational strength and the other a necessity for refreshing life. ‘Waterstone’ speaks of people working together in partnership with nature whilst creating something enjoyable and pleasurable. When Pim de Lijster and Reino Kruger discovered their shared interest in creating wines from different regions in South Africa, they found Waterstone Wines 2005 on a small farm called Waterhof in Stellenbosch.
Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon were planted and hand-picked by local partners. Pim’s background as a wine farmer and businessman coupled with Reino’s winemaking and brand developing skills, they make a formidable pair. They boast a vast amount of various ranges such as their Reserve Range Wines, Kruger Legacy KFK which pays homage to the Kruger family history and tradition of winemaking, Sonata, Golden Vine, Compadre Venacio- an intensely flavoured wine with a taste of Portugal, Cape Discovery, Africa Five, Africa, Africa BIB, Openers and Moja Tetrapak. Waterstone understand how important strong design is and therefore have created strong brands with the help of Reino’s creative design.
