The scenic Equitania Boutique Wine Farm is part of the renowned Cape Winelands, known the world over for the excellent wines that are produced and exported from here. It is perched on the foothills of the Helderberg Mountain Range and boasts views of the iconic Table Mountain and False Bay.

Here, the sandy gravel soil and Mediterranean climate are ideal for the vineyards, which have become well known and loved for the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon that hail from these grapes. The success behind Equitania is the group of specialists that make it work. Having a winemaker and viticulturist, and the team that supports them means that everything produced here boasts the quintessential combination of both quality and passion.

The fruit is harvested by hand, stemmed and crushed in the cellar, and then put into open-top concrete fermentation tanks. Once they are fermented, they are pressed and transferred to French oak barrels for 18 months. When their perfect flavour and bouquet has been achieved, they are bottled and hand-labelled to create a quality product that is delicious and not a little special. These boutique-style wines are a must for connoisseurs and quaffers alike, and make for excellent gifts.

The original homestead is home to the Head Office, and is beautiful in its own rights.

Equitania is situated in Somerset West, which is less than an hour outside Cape Town and its international airport. Popular tourist attractions like Table Mountain, the City Bowl, the V & A Waterfront, the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Stellenbosch, and Paarl are a must for visitors to this part of the Western Cape.
