About Kirstenbosch to Constantia Nek Hike
The trail from the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens to the picturesque heights of Constantia Nek shows off much of the lush beauty for which this part of the Mother City and the Cape Winelands is known.
The hike includes a large portion of the jade-coloured Newlands Forest, which adds to its scenic appeal
Some of the views along the way include the Kirstenbosch Gardens, and extend all the way to the historical, vibrant Cape Flats. This area is the renowned home of fynbos, unique vegetation found nowhere else in the world. This trail boasts some of this fynbos as well as spectacular proteas.
The entire trail is about six kilometres long (one way) and takes approximately two hours to complete. It is easy to manage and, therefore, ideal for families.
