About Constantia Forest
The Constantia Forest is the ultimate in hidden gems, right in the heart of the leafy Cape Town suburb of Constantia. It is pretty, quiet and full of welcome surprises for little ones. This forest is situated on Oak Avenue just past the Alphen Hotel.
The Constantia Forest does not have toys or entertainment centres. But, it does have plenty of natural features that make it an adventure to explore for the whole family. Trees and stumps are hugely exciting to explore and climb, while the rivers are pretty and offer endless opportunities to splash. Of course, the mud is irresistible to little ones (moms can decide whether that is a plus or not).
The circular path means that you can start and finish at your car without getting lost. The path is best tackled with comfortable walking shoes, but is easily handled by outdoorsy prams too. Along the path, there are loads of beautiful plants and trees, as well as some colourful flowers. In addition, horse riders enjoy riding through the fresh air and sunshine of the Constantia Forest.
These pretty surrounds are idyllic for an afternoon stroll and are even better for letting little ones burn energy. The pristine surrounds are magnificent, but are only a few minutes from the malls and neighbourhoods of Cape Town. The City Bowl and Table Mountain are only about 30 minutes from the forest, while the international airport is about 25 minutes away.
