About The Lion's Den
With murals of wildlife as high as three storeys, wildlife sculptures and cuisine as robust and bold as its setting, The Lion’s Den is a truly African experience. Animal skin rugs, ornate carved chairs upholstered in leather or skin, and a stunning 3-D bronze elephant mural are in keeping with the overall African wildlife theme.
Open from breakfast through to late lunch, The Lion’s Den offers decadent mixed grill breakfasts, if you don’t decide on a traditional English breakfast, through to inventive salads for lunch, with an African twist, tramezzinis and a selection of meaty dishes off the grill, such as lamb chops and chicken fillets. Their steaks and burgers are a highlight; succulent meat served with all the trimmings, with delicious sauces and good old fashioned chips. There are also pasta dishes, if you feel like enjoying something less meaty.
Take a walk around the restaurant and feast your eyes on a total of 49 murals: some are impressively large reaching a height of 3 storeys! Your host Fanie Lochner is warm and engaging and will go that extra mile to please his guests.
