About Fourcade Trail
Set aside two full days to complete the Fourcade Trail which is a circular route that is 24km long. The trail was opened in 1991 and departs from the depot next to the forest below Witelskop and since it is a circular route you will end up where you began.
There are no facilities on the route, however there are a number of overnight resting spots that are suggested as they are next to water. The trail offers a wilderness experience from fynbos to a riverine forest and even mountain streams.
You will need to obtain a permit from the Witelsbos Forest Station before you can commence this trail. Find this station when you turn off the N2 after travelling 11km east from the Storms River bridge.
