Situated in the middle of the Tsitsikamma Mountains with access via Route 62, Scalarhoney Lodge is the original off grid experience. The venue is situated 80km by road from Storms River and Tsitsikamma Village (only 10km as the crow flies). This is the ideal spot to retreat and recharge your batteries.

Self Catering Accommodation

Scalarhoney Lodge eco cabin is built from natural materials including a crystal quartz mosaic floor. The cabin is situated on a river bank complete with a rock pool on the doorstep.

The cabin sleeps two guests in a King-size bed and also has a sleeper couch for a child. A tent can be erected for additional children or guests.

The cabin is self contained and both the kitchen and bathroom use solar or gas and have an open fire / braai area. In addition there is a communal area with braai facilities and safe parking.

We also have the Buchu Treehouse glamping site which is secluded and set among a Keurboom forest along a cascading riverbed with breathtaking mountain views of a variety of fantastical protea and fynbos species.

The Buchu Treehouse glamping site is self catering, solar energized and houses a tent with a king-size bed and a single bed, this sleeps 3 guests. ( 2 adults, 1 child), all linen and towels are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, gas cooker, small fridge/freezer. The bathroom has a hot shower, a camping and flush toilet is provided on site.

Guests can hike up the kloof to river rapids, waterfalls and rock pools.
