Cradled between the lush Tsitsikamma Forests and vast blue Kouga Mountain Range, Assegaaibosch Country Lodge is situated 75 minutes from Port Elizabeth and an hour from Plettenberg Bay on the scenic R62 motorway.
The Lodge is also located near to the southern gateway of the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve which makes the Lodge an ideal base from which guided tours, adventure activities and self drive exploration of the area can be embarked upon.
Accommodation
Assegaaibosch Country Lodge consists of 13 rooms built around a sparkling blue 15 by 6 meter swimming pool with a wooden deck area. The neighboring Manor House is a luxurious Victorian styled double story house with six rooms.
Crisp white cotton linen blends with wholly natural fabrics and colours to give each room an inviting and effortlessly stylish ambience. Superior quality mattresses will ensure a good night's sleep. The bathrooms are equipped with unique and convenient shower shelves and luxurious toiletries.
While each of the rooms has a television set, guests will spend hours soaking up the splendid view from their private balconies. Some rooms look out over bright splashes of wild, colourful gardens, while others open onto the pristine pool deck with the mountains in the distance.
Breakfast & Dining
The lodge boasts two different dining areas and a fantastic variety of menus for residents. Special set menus are created weekly, using only the freshest produce available. Likewise, the dining venues are varied according to the weather, bookings and planned set menus for the week.
The Copper Pot:
This is where most of the meals are served daily. The restaurant has a patio area for dining in the breeze in summer months.
E'Lapa:
Informal area, where lunch and dinner can be served during the summer. Adjacent to the Sports Bar, it is supported by a cosy braai and informal cooking area.
For Leisure:
The Sports bar Lounge, the Deck Lounge area with hammocks, comfortable couches and deck chairs. Dezeppi's is used as an informal lounge during the day. Dinner is served here for the kids followed by their evening DVD.
