The timing of the Boat Show is perfect;The people of Cape Town are emerging from a wet and cold winter, the flowers are blooming and we’ve got some of the finest water-based destinations in the country to go and enjoy a wide range of exciting activities.
The CTICC plays host to the ‘dryland’ part of the show and includes powerboats of all shapes and sizes - plus all the sporting gear that goes with them like skis and wakeboards, the Speaker Series covering topics as diverse as water safety, career opportunities on the waves and a presentation by Amazon explorer Davey du Plessis. In fact, Davey is about to embark on a solo paddle from Cape Town to Rio de Janeiro, come and see the boat and hear his amazing story.
For the more energetic show visitor there’s an amazing range of stand up paddle boards on show and you can even try one out on the canal at the CTICC.
Down at the V&A Waterfront you can go on board some of the finest luxury cruisers available in sub-Saharan Africa. And what’s even more amazing is that many of these fantastic vessels are manufactured right here in Cape Town. If the sailing bug has tickled your fancy you can also try your hand while in the safe waters of the Victoria basin.
