Serenity on the Lake is a beautiful and intimate 4 bed roomed Boutique style guest house just a 35 minute drive from Cape Town. Our stunning lakeside location on the edge of a nature reserve offers guests tranquillity and relaxation. A twenty five minute walk (or a five minute drive) and you are at the fabulous long beach. Local shops and restaurants are a five minute drive away. "Serenity" is located in the unspoilt coastal village of Kommetjie in the Western Cape. Kommetjie has a laid back atmosphere and a beautiful long beach. Serenity on the Lake is just a 25 minute drive from Green Point, Camps Bay and even closer to Cape Point and Chapmans Peak. Simons Town and Hout Bay are all within easy reach. Watch the whales, seals and otters or surfers on the beach. Baboon walking is very popular and the area is popular with cyclists and golfers. Whale watching in the season is amazing, all along this Western Cape area. AccommodationWe offer just four Individual rooms; made up of 2 suites and 2 garden rooms. All are well furnished with air conditioning, satellite TV, mini fridges and tea / coffee trays. For the energetic we have a private gym. Private parking for our clients, free laundry and a maid service is also available. Junior Suite The suite is furnished with a cream double bed and African touches. The room is also equipped with a wardrobe, chandelier and a separate en suite with luxury Jacuzzi bath, WC and separate shower. The suite is fully carpeted and the main bedroom has a chandelier. Sunset and Sunrise Rooms These lovely garden rooms both have French style doors leading onto the garden and the pool. They are equipped with shower rooms, fully tiled floors and WC. One room has a double bed and one has a twin. Bridal Suite Our Bridal Suite is a triple aspect room, and a treat to stay in. It is cosy, luxurious and comfortable. Fully carpeted with a French style romantic four poster bed, dressing table and character mirror. The en suite bathroom has a luxury Jacuzzi bath, and separate shower, WC and freestanding basin. There is a chandelier in the main bedroom. FacilitiesOur main areas are traditionally furnished with local African wood. Paintings from local artists decorate our walls and cosy lounge, with leather sofas for your relaxation. 'Serenity on the Lake' is set in its own pretty garden, with a swimming pool, garden Jacuzzi and gazebo. There are sweeping views from our terrace across to the Table Bay National Park. Dine on either of our two terraces, overlooking the lake and pool. WeddingsSerenity on the Lake specialises in small, intimate weddings. Our packages range from 2 - 10 people and you can decide whether you would just like to have the ceremony with us, or hire the whole house for a duration or a day and bring your own caterers and wedding coordinators. The choice is endless, we are very flexible and can accommodate any of your requirements. Contact us for more information and an informal chat, or venue visit.
