Durban's famous and colourful Amphitheatre Flea Market is held every Sunday along the ‘Golden Mile’, on Durban's Beachfront. The market is the perfect place for a day excursion with the whole family; children are catered for with a jumping castle, food stalls and a wide selection of interesting stalls. The Amphitheatre spills out on the beach - perfect for a long stroll.
The Amphitheatre Flea Market offers visitors a taste of food from around the world, including meals and bites of delicious Indian foods such as rotis, curry, samoosas and, a real treat, fresh pineapple on a stick decorated with curry masala on top! Other treats and snacks, from pies and boerewors rolls, through to cake and ice-cream are on offer.
The Amphitheatre has become well-known for selling African curios, such as intricately decorated walking sticks, jewellery made from Zulu beads, decorative neck pieces, beautifully carved wooden animals and leatherwork.
