Simons Town, Cape Town
Simonstown is about 35 minutes south of Cape Town on the False Bay side of the Cape Peninsula. Simons Town Bay faces north, which helps protect the town and beaches from the strong summer southeast winds, a feature of life in the Western Cape. Simons Towns waters are calm, warm and shallow, unlike the South Atlantic coast, and are ideal for a wide range of water activities.

Simons Town is steeped in history dating back to the early Dutch and British settlements. The area known as the "Historic Mile", the heart of the town, boasts a great variety of architecturally interesting buildings. A fine nautical museum details the town's history; another recreates its naval roots.
