It’s one of the few camps that still have the true bush atmosphere where you can just unwind and enjoy your safari with no restrictions and no electricity. At night, kerosene lamps add to the ambience of the camp and you are always assure of hot water for a relaxing bath after the day’s safari.

ACCOMMODATION

The camp houses a maximum of eight guests in uniquely constructed thatched and canvas units that are positioned to enhance this great bush experience. All the units are very private and have en-suite facilities. All the rooms are furnished for your utmost comfort. Soap, linen and towels are provided.

DINING

At Pungwe we pride ourselves on our 'Home Cuisine', with certain meals still prepared over an open fire. All refreshments are available in our thatched lounge / dining area.

GAME VIEWING

Walking is combined with game drives. To walk through the bushveld in the company of an experienced, armed safari guide is to experience the essence of Africa. There is nothing more tantalising than the sights, sounds, feel and smells of the African bush.

Game drives in an open Land Rover are a standard feature and are conducted both during the day and at night using a spotlight. One cannot help feeling overwhelmed when seeing the sunset and listening to the haunting sounds of the African night.

MANYELETI GAME RESERVE

Manyeleti Game Reserve is situated in the wildlife rich region of the Limpopo Province Lowveld which forms part of the world-renowned Greater Kruger National Park and hosts a similar variety of wildlife, including the 'Big five'. The birdlife is also prolific, with over 300 recorded species.

The reserve is situated away from the mainstream tourist areas and one may still experience the tranquillity of the African bush in total seclusion. The name 'Manyeleti', in the local Shangaan language means 'Place of the Stars' and guests may spend a memorable moment watching a magnificent Southern Constellation, with the pride of place taken up by the Southern Cross.
