About Bateleur Safari Camp

Bateleur Safari Camp offers accommodation in the heart of the world renowned Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. The 3500 hectare Bateleur property shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park. On this exclusive property we proudly offer Bateleur Main Camp, an up market eight bed camp.

This prime wilderness area boasts the Big Five, a large diversity of antelope, the entire range of smaller predators, over 500 bird species and a tremendous diversity of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. Bateleur's traversing area extends over 10 000 hectares of the Timbavati Reserve.

Accommodation

Bateleur Safari Camp game lodge units are all furnished with comfortable, spacious beds dressed with quality linen.

Each tent has a thatched A-frame roof, canvas sides with large windows offering fixed mosquito screens and roll-down flaps, double wooden front doors and a large en-suite bathroom.

Each unit has bedside tables with solar powered bedside lamps, wardrobes and a solar powered fan for the hot weather.

Each spacious en-suite bathroom has flush toilet, basin and a hot water shower – one unit has an interior bath tub and a private outdoor shower. Quality towels are provided.

Facilities

For guests who would like to try a shower under the stars, outdoor showers are provided with all the privacy that you will need.

A swimming pool is located at the central area for guests to cool off between guided activities on a hot day.

The central boma has a central fireplace, located next to a braai area. There is an indoor dining area which spills out onto an open lounge area. Drinks can be purchased from the bar.

Included

Accommodation is offered on a full board basis with breakfast, lunch and dinner, soft drink, juices and water being included. Daily morning and afternoon / evening guided game activities led by qualified rangers and trackers. Informative instruction relating to bushcraft and survival skills.

Attractions

During your stay at Bateleur you will be treated to very informative instruction relating to bush craft, a spider and scorpion module and basic astronomy clear skies allow it. Optional bush walks are also offered, led by a qualified and armed ranger and an experienced tracker. Additional activities are offered at an extra cost.

Please Note:
Minimum age 12 for all guided bush walk participants; no maximum age but an average fitness level is required since each walk can last 3-4 hours.
