Ideal for families and friends or honeymoon couples and a magnificent location for nature lovers and adventurers. The lodge is situated on a most spectacular setting on the Eastern escarpment of the Drakensberg Mountains in the Limpopo Province, which is a world heritage site of mountainous wonderland, and nature phenomena. The setting provides natural beauty and majestic views of rock formations overlooking the Lowveld, The Lodge is treasured by nature lovers, bird watchers, and guests seeking a unique location for peace and serenity or a holiday adventure. ACCOMMODATIONMonyela Mountain Lodge has two units available The Lodge (5 bedroom - 12 sleeper) The Chalet (2 bedroom - 4 sleeper ) Both units have spectacular Mountain and or valley views like no other place on earth. THE LODGE: (Catered with prior arrangement or Self Catering) The Lodge is an upscale 450m² double story lodge / house with 5 bedrooms, 12 beds, with 4 bathrooms of which 2 are en-suite. Rooms: The Master Bedroom (large room) with king-size bed (twin beds together) with en-suite bathroom. A guest bedroom with king-size bed (twin beds together) with en-suite bathroom. A second guest bedroom with king-size bed (twin beds together) with designated bathroom. Bunk bedroom with four bunk beds and with bathroom sharing. An additional bedroom with two single beds and with bathroom sharing. Upper Level: Living room (lounge), dining room, small bar (open with catered option), wooden deck leading off the dinning room and lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. (includes cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, fridge, freezer, gas stove, microwave and toaster). Lower Level: Recreation / mini conference area - All lower level rooms have access to a deck / patio. THE CHALET: (Self Catering only) The chalet is a +/- 100m² unit with 2 bedrooms, 4 beds and 1 bathroom. Rooms: Bedroom with king-size bed (twin beds together). A second bedroom with king-size bed (twin beds together). Facilities include a lounge with DSTV, private deck and dining area, private Boma / braai area, sharing bathroom and fully equipped kitchen (Includes cutlery, crockery, pots & pans, fridge, freezer, electric stove, microwave and toaster). ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONSThe Lodge is also the ideal base from which to explore the scenic delights of the surrounding area like the Blyde River Canyon, the Three Rondavels, the MacMac and Berlin Falls, Graskop, Gods Window, the geological wonder of Bourke's Luck Pot Holes, the historical town of Pilgrims Rest, and the Echo Caves. Monyela Mountain Lodge is a short distance away from the Kruger National Park (home of the big five), Kapama cheetah project, Khamai reptile park, Moholoholo wildlife rehabilitation centre, and Big five game drives, offering visitors the ultimate wildlife experience. For those interested in more extreme adventure there is White Water rafting, Hot Air Ballooning, Quad Biking, Kloofing, and tubing. A helicopter pad at the Lodge also provides for additional adventure on prior arrangement. DIRECTIONS: From Nelspruit Take the R40 to Hoedspruit In Hoedspruit turn Left at 4 way onto the R527 towards Tunnel / Lydenberg Approx. 18 Km just past Blyde River Bridge turn Left onto Driehoek Rd Follow road for approx 4.8 Km to Monyela Mountain Lodge SIGN turn right Continue road all the way approx 4.5 km passing through 3 gates (gravel road for approx. 3 Km then concrete strips for approx. 1.5 Km to the Lodge (the concrete part is quite a climb so it is advisable to keep youre vehicle in 1st gear) From Johannesburg / Pretoria Use the highway towards Witbank N4, Belfast, Dullstroom, Lydenburg, Origstad then Hoedspruit Once past JG Strijdom Tunnel approx. 24 Km follow Blyde 1 Stop Signs Just before Blyde 1 Stop and before Blyderiver bridge (approx. 18 Km before Hoedspruit) turn Right onto Driehoek Road Follow road for approx 4.8 Km to Monyela Mountain Lodge SIGN, then turn right Continue road all the way approx 4.5 Km passing through 3 gates (gravel road for approx. 3 Km then concrete strips for approx. 1.5 Km to the Lodge (the concrete part is quite a climb so it is advisable to keep youre vehicle in 1st gear) MAP: Available at: http://www.sa-venues.com/visit/monyelamountainlodge/map.php |
