DESCRIPTION:
'Climb above the clouds, walk with the Rhino - game farm in the mountains'. For a magical African experience, try Lesheba Wilderness Game Farm, which stretches along the top of the western Soutpansberg Mountains in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Located in mountainous terrain, the farm is often lost in a morning mist- the high moisture has resulted in rich and varied vegetation, from open plains to natural bushveld and high canopy forest.
There are more than 335 species of trees and a wide variety of birds, including black eagles, purple crested and Knysna louries and the rare Narina Trogon. The larger game includes white rhino, leopard, giraffe, zebra, sable brown hyena and numerous species of antelope.
Lesheba is best explored on foot where we offer you the unique opportunity to walk unguided amongst our animals which include the mighty white rhino, giraffe, zebra, sable and the elusive leopard plus kudu, eland, wildebeest and many of the smaller species; red duiker, aardvark, pangolins, porcupines and civets.
ACCOMMODATION
There are 2 exclusive bushcamps at Lesheba. Both are fully equipped for self catering and full catering is offered from The Venda Village. Several circular walking trails begin at each camp.
The Venda Village:
Internationally acclaimed Venda artist, Noria Mabasa, has created the extraordinary Venda Village. It is a living gallery of her works and overlooks Duluni Valley. There is a luxury outdoor bathroom with sculpted figureheads and a view over the plains below and a thatched lapa with a lounge, diningroom and kitchen. This camp sleeps 8. Truly African, Truly Amazing!
Hamasha:
Another luxurious option. The thatched camp has four en-suite bedrooms offering magnificent views of Hamasha gorge. It has a lounge and fireplace for cosy evenings with French doors opening out onto a braai area. After a long hike, there's nothing more refreshing than enjoying one of the outdoor showers. Secluded and Magical!
GAME DRIVES
Game drives are available, but the best way to experience all the farm has to offer, is on foot. There are 10 marked trails from 2 to 5 hours walking time, with paths meandering through lush bush, over plains and down spectacular gorges, where in summer you can swim in clear rock pools.
ACTIVITIES
For an experience which reflects the soul of Africa walk along the marked trails, join a game drive or take a horse ride within our diverse environment. Visit the ancient rock art sites and meander under dense canopies of indigenous forest or hike down rocky gorges. |

DIRECTIONS:
Take the M1 North out of JHB
Get onto the N1 North to Pietersburg (just before Pretoria but you do not go into Pretoria so you need to keep a good look out for the sign) It is not long after the Shell Ultra City
At Pietersburg follow signs N1 to Louis Trichardt and Zimbabwe
Take the N1 to Louis Trichardt
At Louis Trichardt, the first main 4-way stop that you come to is Rissik Street or the R522 to Vivo.
Turn left into Rissik
The BP garage that you will come to on the left is the last fill up spot
Take Rissik St all the way out of Louis Trichardt and +- 33km outside of town you will cross over a railway line
Carry on over the railway line for +- 5km and you will cross over the SAND river Bridge
After the bridge +- 300m down the road you will see our sign on the right hand side.
Carry on along the dirt road. After +- 3 and a 1/2km's, you will pass a farmhouse on your left
After the farmhouse, a few hundred metres up ahead, the road forks and you keep to the right. There are signs so you shouldn't go wrong.
Follow the road up the mountain to our gate and from there to RECEPTION.
NB. Please ignore the signs that say 'gate locked' and ensure that you close the gate properly. If you put your speedometer to 0 at the first four way stop at Louis Trichardt, where you turn left into Rissik Street (R522), it is 36.1km to our turn off .
P.S. Just a reminder that you need to take it very slowly up the mountain...
Enjoy the drive!
