DESCRIPTION:
Kurisa Moya is only 3 to 4 hours from Johannesburg, but the privacy and tranquillity offered at this Nature Lodge will truly restore your spirit. Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge is a 422 hectare property near Tzaneen, Polokwane and Magoebaskloof in Limpopo, South Africa.
Kurisa Moya is perched on the edge of the Drakensburg escarpment, so it has mesmerising views out over the lowveld. This soulful place embraces a pristine indigenous forest with massive moss-covered trees where ancient Yellow-woods carry an energy all of their own. Burbling streams make their way over boulders to the dams below. Here, nature's tranquillity is broken only by booming Samango monkeys, croaking crimson-winged Knysna Turacos and Bushbuck barks.
ACCOMMODATION
Kurisa Moya has mountains, rivers, indigenous forests and bushveld and offers accommodation in 3 unique venues - each private and tranquil. Activities include 7 marked walking paths, hiking trails, guided birding walks with a Birdlife SA accredited guide, 4x4 sunset drives, massages and fly-fishing. You could book a Forest Lodge cabin, 3 metres up in the canopy of the indigenous forest, surrounded by magnificent trees, animals and birds. Alternatively, soak up the views at the earthy Thora Boloka Cottage, on the mountain's edge overlooking Kudu's River Valley.
Otherwise, the Farmhouse is perfect for family get-togethers or fun weekends away with a group of friends. It has 5 en-suite bedrooms, huge kitchen, lounge and dining-room, a wrap-around pation and private gardens with plunge pool. Each venue is kitted-out for self catering or meals can be provided for you. Activities, tours and transfers can be organised.
Whichever venue you choose, you can be sure of privacy, tranquility and the sense of having your soul restored. There is something powerfully restorative in being surrounded by ancient trees in an untouched forest and by being all alone in this tranquil place. Silence, peace and beauty all combine to restore the soul. There are very few places these days where you can drive for a few hours, stay for a weekend and return to real life with a feeling that your spirit is full to the brim and that the world is a magical place.

From Johannesburg / Pretoria
Follow the N1 from Johannesburg to Pretoria.
Stay on the N1 and follow the signs to Polokwane / Pietersburg
Just before Polokwane, take the Tzaneen R71 off-ramp.
Go through a traffic light, a 4-way stop and at the next traffic light, turn right to TZANEEN / UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO
About 19,5 km out of Polokwane, just before the traffic lights, take the slipway to the left to the UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO. There is a Kurisa Moya sign there too.
A new Sasol garage is on the right hand side at these traffic lights.
Follow this road for another 26 km until it becomes a dirt road. (You will pass Mankweng hospital and town as well as the University of Limpopo and then pass through various villages)
Watch out for cows and goats on this last stretch of road.
500m after the road becomes dirt, you will see Kurisa Moya's sign on the left hand side of the road. Turn right here and enter Kurisa Moya's property.
Follow the signs to the farmhouse and then park in the parking bay at the Farmhouse or at the guest parking above reception.
Please go slowly and carefully on the internal roads as they are bumpy due to rain run-offs.
