DESCRIPTION:

An African jewel, set in untouched wilderness, Kuname River Lodge invites you to explore the timeless beauty of an untamed Garden of Eden ...

Kuname River Lodge is an exclusive five star, ten bed lodge situated in the Karongwe Private Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province. Kuname which is 4.5 hours drive from Johannesburg and 45 km from the world famous Kruger National Park, is easily accessible by both air and by road and offers some of the best big five game viewing and bird watching opportunities in South Africa.

Set in approximately 9000 hectares of pristine African bush, Kuname River Lodge is a haven for those in search of a unique African bush experience. Enjoy a cocktail in our elegant guest area or on our beautifully situated wooden deck over-looking the cool clear waters of the rock pool on the one side and the lightly flowing Kuvenjame River on the other.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Kuname is in five luxurious thatched chalets nestled in dense African bush over-looking the river and the majestic Drakensberg Mountain Range.

Each chalet, made from natural building materials such as locally hewn rock and fine woods are complimented by top quality fabrics, original artworks and carvings from various parts of Africa. All the chalets have indoor and outdoor bathrooms as well as their own private decks.

Dining

Dining at Kuname is an extraordinary delight. A time to enjoy a kaleidoscope of flavours inspired by Africa, but guided by international culinary traditions.

A barbeque or a more elegant bush dinner with fine wines can be savoured either around the fire in the boma or in the more formal inside dining room. We have a large selection of fine wines in our beautifully designed wine cellar where a more intimate dinner can be enjoyed for couples who wish to dine alone.

Activities

Our early morning and evening game drives are one of our focal points and are conducted by highly qualified rangers and trackers. With our Big Five, incredible bird life and centuries old trees, our professional guides with their outstanding knowledge of the environment, ensure that our visitors become participants rather than merely spectators. A game drive at Kuname is about becoming immersed in the ultimate African bush experience.

At Kuname, we are driven by passion. Passion for the land, passion for the animals and plants, passion for service and passion for the community in which we live. Our guiding principle is "Responsible Tourism" - to conserve the ecosystem and preserve one of Africa's "endangered spaces".

Kuname River lodge will touch you deeply. Your visit will always hold a special place in your heart. It will rejuvenate you and soothe your soul. It is more than just a safari ... more than a luxury lodge ...
