About The Old Hotel

Dating back to the 1850's, the Old Hotel at Curry's Post captures the essence and atmosphere of historic Natal. Beautifully restored and decorated, the original hotel has been rejuvenated, and offers extremely comfortable self-catering accommodation in the heart of the Natal Midlands Meander route.

Self Catering Accommodation

The Old Hotel can accommodate up to 13 people in three separate units, The Main House (the original Hotel), The Old Post Office, and the Postmaster's Cottage. These units can be booked out together, or completely separately, depending on the occasion and the size of the groups.

The Main House
Sleeping seven guests in four bedrooms, the Main House is ideally suited to families or small groups. There is a spacious master bedroom as well as two bedrooms (one with a Queen size bed), one large room with two single beds and a small bedroom with a single bed. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom while the other three rooms share a bathroom. Facilities include TV with DStv, housekeeping, microwave, freezer and fridge, heater and fan, braai facilities, secure parking with remote gate and garden.

The Old Post Office Cottage
The Old Post Office is a quaint and romantic cottage set in the gardens of the Old Hotel. The cottage offers couples romantic and comfortable accommodation; the cottage is furnished with a Queen-sized bed and the en-suite bathroom provides the comfort to enjoy your leisure time away. There is a small but modern kitchen for those guests preferring to self cater.

The Postmaster's Cottage
The Postmaster's Cottage has been tastefully restored and sleeps from two to four people with a King size bed and sleeper couch provided in the living room. This unit is ideal for a couple or a family with children. The bathroom in the Postmaster's Cottage has a bath and shower combination. This cottage can be used in addition to the Main House, or completely independently as it has its own basic kitchen.

Situated just a few kilometers from popular wedding venues on the Meander, such as Cranford Country House, Providence and Old Halliwell, The Old Hotel is perfectly placed to enjoy all the picturesque Midlands has to offer. The Coach House and Terbodore restaurant and coffee roaster is within walking distance of The Old Hotel and other restaurants within a short distance include Mulberry Hill's Bistro, Tumble Downs and Old Halliwell Hotel.

We are within 15 minutes drive of Michaelhouse and Clifton making an ideal weekend base for families with children at any of the local schools.
