The Boathouse at Beacon Vlei offers comfortable accommodation in Balgowan with panoramic views over our 23 hectare private dam, and the surrounding wetland area, which is home to hundreds of beautiful bird species, as well as a few large mammals.

Self Catering Accommodation

The Boathouse sleeps four guests in one bedroom. The bedroom is furnished with a King-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin.

There is an alcove in the living area with two single beds. The second bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet and basin.

It has a fully equipped kitchen, a large open plan living/ dining room which has a big Jetmaster fireplace and Dstv.

The cottage comes equipped with a braai.

Pets

Small pets allowed for a fee per pet per night, one pet per cottage.

Recreation

Guests need not leave the farm to enjoy Bass fishing, birding, boating or a picnic after a leisurely walk around beautiful Beacon Vlei. Other outdoor activities that can be arranged in the surrounding countryside include, mountain biking, horse riding, canopy tours, battlefield tours and even paragliding.

Our 23 hectare private dam provides excellent Bass fishing for all levels of ability, we provide boats for guests to use and life jackets, please bring your own rods and tackle. Although bass can be caught throughout the year, the best times for fishing are from September until May.
