Kruger Hippo Retreat offers four bedrooms, an open-plan living and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen.

The retreat has four bedrooms accommodating a variety of sleeping arrangements. The main bedroom features a king-size bed and an upstairs loft with two single beds. The second and third bedrooms each have a queen-size bed, while the fourth bedroom, a separate honeymoon room located apart from the main house, is furnished with a king-size bed. All four bedrooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, Wi-Fi and seating areas, with views of the garden, swimming pool or dam. Selected rooms open onto private verandahs.

Each of the four bedrooms has its own en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and shower. Towels are provided.

Outdoor facilities include a swimming pool, garden, patio, outdoor furniture, braai facilities and a pizza oven. A bar and outdoor entertainment area provide additional space for dining and socialising.

The private island is a special feature, with a firepit, hippo viewing deck and sheltered Hippo Hide Lounge, which has running water and its own refrigerator. These facilities offer a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the surroundings and observe local wildlife.

The indoor living area features comfortable seating, a dining table, television with streaming services, Wi-Fi, a fireplace and air conditioning. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, bar fridge, dishwasher, toaster, coffee and tea facilities, and essential kitchenware. Additional conveniences include cleaning services, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board, and a minibar.

      Frequently Asked Questions

      Why do I have to pay a deposit?

      This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

      Can I pay the deposit at month end?

      That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.
