The key to making good beer, according to the Keghouse Brewery, is to make the beer you want to drink. So, with a commitment to good quality ingredients, patience, and discernment, this brewery produces beers that meet their personal standards. This has resulted in a range of popular, easy-drinking craft beers that continue to impress.

Situated in Randburg, Johannesburg, this brewery was born in 2007. Since then, it has grown and evolved into a popular place to meet, laugh, and sample some top-notch beers. Currently, there are five different beers being produced here, and visitors will enjoy discovering their favourites. These are the:

Keghouse Bottle Blonde (ABV 3.5%)
This fun, light beer is easy to sip on all afternoon. With a subtle aroma of biscuit and malt, its bitterness is smooth and it has a dry finish for the ultimate in refreshment. It’s ideally enjoyed with seafood and Gouda.

Keghouse Clacker Amber Ale (ABV 4.5%)
Expect initial caramel notes and citrus aromas from this medium-bodied beer. It also makes for easy-drinking, and goes with most food.

Jolly Pumpkin Ale (ABV 6.5%)
The unique flavours of this American brown ale make it popular amongst those that want something warming and a little nostalgic. It is enhanced with cinnamon, butternut, nutmeg and all-spice and goes particularly well with hearty butternut soup and pork roast.

Misty Gold Belgium Wit Bier (ABV 4.5%)
As a typical Belgian-style wit bier (white beer), this malted wheat beer is irresistibly refreshing. The orange peel and coriander nuances finish it to perfection.

Chilli Choc Stout (ABV 4%)
A classic dry stout is transformed with rich chocolate and chilli for something different that’ll warm you from the inside. This is a must-try.

Interestingly, the Keghouse Brewery boasts a home brew shop as well as a beer school, where enthusiasts can learn more about the brewing process and venture into their own craft brewing adventure.
