Tour Itinerary

  1. DAY 1: Hazyview; Nelspruit airport; Johannesburg OR Tambo; White River to Kruger National Park

After welcoming you on board our comfortable open safari vehicle, there will be a brief synopsis of what to expect during the safari.

There is a short drive before entering a Kruger gate in the southern region, an area known for its herds of elephants and buffalos, the home to the king of the jungle and of course wherever lion prides are, antelope, zebra and giraffe abound.

As the afternoon cools down, keep your eyes open... this is when the predators like hyenas, lions and leopards start their day. With evening drawing closer and just as the gates close, we head to camp for a relaxing evening spent recounting experiences whilst listening to the laugh of a hyena, or the roar of a lion.

Dinner overlooking the Sabie River whilst listening to the sounds of the wild. (own account)

OVERNIGHT: Kruger National Park en-suite thatched rondavel (chalet) or family cottage / guest house

  2. DAY 2: Safari camp to Kruger National Park

The animals get off to an early start, so we do too! Coffee / tea before boarding the vehicle to search for night predators still active.

After a stop for breakfast we continue on safari, perhaps we will see the graceful Cheetah who hunts during the day; a leopard lounging in the folk of a tree after an eventful night; the possibilities are endless.

General wildlife thrives with herds of impala, elegant giraffes, a dazzle of zebras and the majestic kudu. If you’re a bird enthusiast you won’t be disappointed, there are over 500 bird species listed.

Time to leave this world renowned wildlife sanctuary - It is true that a visit to rural Africa is like a step back in time, where nature rules and mankind is but a spectator.

Arrival back in Hazyview around 12 noon or if you don't have to rush back, drop-off can be extended to 4 PM.

    Pamela Roy, Ontario, Canada:
Thabo and I had such a wonderful experience at Kruger. In fact, every morning was a new adventure, the park filled with opportunities for new sightings to witness the animal kingdom in all its beauty.

Our safari guide was probably the highlight of our experience, patient with our request to find the most unusual animals, from rare birds to the pride of the land. He was also very kind, generous, funny, and knowledgeable.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Regents experience, it was like no other, and I appreciated the individualized care we received -- it made for an epic experience!!

Sven and Doris Ramspott, Zurich, Switzerland:
We enjoyed two great days in Kruger Park with a guided Safari tour. Kruger Park is most amazing wildlife park.

Elephants crossing your way, a lion lying 20 meters next to the vehicle, various animals, big and small in their natural Habitat. Awesome!

We booked two full day Safari Tours with Regent Safaris, owner-operated by John and Ann Evans. Good cars, experienced, knowledgeable staff and well organized - fully recommended.

Do not use a rental car in Kruger as you will not see as many animals as with a guided Safari because in safari vehicles you sit higher up for a better view, you have the genuine Safari Feeling (compared to a compact size rental car) and our guide spotted animals with ease which we would not have identified ourselves.

OVERNIGHT: Optional - contact Ann for a quote on 2+ night safaris
