Itinerary

  1. DAY 1: Hazyview; Nelspruit airport; Johannesburg OR Tambo; White River to Kruger National Park

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK - An unforgettable wildlife experience!
Nothing can compare to the breath-taking thrill of seeing a lion for the first time walking through the African bush; spotting a leopard up a tree or being up close and personal with an endangered cheetah.

It's not only about the famed Big Five, but many other animals such as the giraffe – surely the most elegant of all the bush animals. You'll encounter elephants galore – watch out for that tiny baby crossing the road – and herds of buffalo. There are so many different kinds of antelope your head will spin, fat crocodiles sunning themselves on sandbanks, hyenas mooching along, and, if you're very lucky, a pack of wild dogs on the prowl.

    ABOUT REGENT SAFARIS
Established in 2001 and owner run by SA Tourism Welcome Award Winner, Regent Safaris has many years of experience in the tourism industry.

Based in the heart of safari country for over 16 years on Kruger’s doorstep in Hazyview, we know just about all there is to know about the area and we can plan the best memorable safari for you. A daily private shuttle service is available with departures from Johannesburg OR Tambo airport at 07h15 and arriving in Hazyview at 12h30.

Our exclusive wildlife experiences are all about providing personalised and friendly service of the highest standard. When we say personalised we really mean it! We will not combine your overnight Kruger safari with another group whether you are 2 or 10 guests.

We offer an exciting array of experiences from a Kruger Day / Overnight Safari to a week in the Kruger, from budget to luxury hotels bordering the reserve to private safari lodges and from the Kruger to the Cape!

    SAFARI DAY 1
After welcoming you on board our comfortable open safari vehicle, there will be a brief synopsis of what to expect during the safari. There is a short drive of 15 minutes before entering a Kruger gate in the southern region where your adventure begins!

Sharing the park with you are over 100 000 impala, 10 000 blue wildebeest, 9 000 kudu, 5 000 warthog (everybody's favourite ugly duckling), 25 000 zebra, 180 cheetah, over 1 000 leopard and 1 500 lions – and that's just the start. You can now begin to understand the natural super-abundance of one of the world's best-loved game parks.

As the afternoon cools down, keep your eyes open... this is when the predators like hyenas, lions and leopards start their day. With evening drawing closer and just as the gates close, we head to camp for a relaxing evening spent recounting experiences whilst listening to the laugh of a hyena, or the roar of a lion.

Dinner is in the Safari Camp Restaurant overlooking the Sabie River whilst listening to the sounds of the wild. (own account).

OVERNIGHT: Kruger National Park en-suite thatched rondavel (chalet) or family cottage / guest house

  2. DAY 2: Safari camp to Kruger National Park

    Safari Day 2
The animals get off to an early start, so we do too! In the summer months the camp gates open at 04h30, an hour before the Kruger entrance gates open!

Coffee / tea before boarding the vehicle to search for night predators still active.

Kruger National Park, one of the world’s greatest game reserves, is a captivating experience for those open to the drama of the nature that abounds.

If you’re a bird enthusiast you won’t be disappointed, there are over 500 bird species listed.

There will be a stop for breakfast before continuing on your wildlife adventure. With a network of roads to select from, your guide’s knowledge and experience could lead to a predator kill; perhaps a rare sight of the graceful Cheetah who hunts during the day or a leopard lounging in the folk of a tree after an eventful night - the possibilities are endless.

Late morning with Kruger fading into the horizon, we leave for Hazyview all the richer for the experience and with memories to treasure for life. It is true that a visit to rural Africa is like a step back in time where nature rules and mankind is but a spectator.

Arrival back in Hazyview around 12 noon or if you don't have to rush back, drop-off can be extended by prior arrangement..

We look forward to welcoming you!

Ann, John & the Regent Safaris team.

OVERNIGHT: Optional - request rates for longer safaris

We had a very nice experience driving around in the park and seeing all those wild animals. Fantastic! Also the Skukuza camp was good. The facilities where so modern and nice, is makes the stay in the park so comfortable. Once again thank you for everything. We hope we can come back one day in the future and then we will certainly choose for Regent Safaris again. Best regards, Win and Alicia
