Come and enjoy a peaceful breakaway at "The Farm House", the main homestead on the farm Wycombevale, situated 12 km from the Nanaga turn-off towards Alexandria on the R72 which is part of the Sunshine Coast. "The Farm House" is centrally situated in Elephant country (with the big 5 and the big 7), for guests wanting to visit the malaria free Game Reserves of the Eastern Cape such as The Addo Elephant Park, Schotia Safari's, Amakhala Game Reserve, Safari Lodge and lots more. ACCOMMODATIONThe house was built in the early 1800’s and the owners restored the house to its original beauty and pride. The wooden floors have been sanded and varnished and really brings out the beauty of the house. "The Farm House" consists of two very spacious, lovely decorated air-conditioned rooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom, own private entrance, TV, tea and coffee facilities and bar fridge with condiments. The Green Bean Room This room consists of a double bed, with extra two single beds for children. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, toilet, bath and a basin. The room has double doors opening onto the veranda and the garden. Guests can sit on the veranda and enjoy the beautiful African sunsets. Each room has also got a radio, hairdryer, fan, own towels and a table with chairs. There is also a cot available. The Rosie Red Room This room consists of a double bed, with a single bed and a cot for children. It is an open plan room with a Victorian bath, basin and toilet for the bathroom. It also has beautiful old wooden double doors opening on to the veranda and the playground, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the farm. BREAKFAST & DININGThe Farm House is famous for its farm style food such as “roosterkoeke” and Malva Pudding. Breakfast and delicious suppers are served from the farm kitchen, created with love, care and fresh ingredients. THE FARMThe Farm is a working dairy farm, with 250 dairy cows and a few beef cattle. Guests can enjoy watching the animals, see the dairy, help feed the calves and have a walk around the farm. The Farm also plants chicory which is an ingredient that is used to produce coffee. Children can play around in the safe surrounds of the playground, help feed the animals and take out eggs from the chickens! This is an ideal getaway for families wanting to get away from it all and enjoy some family time. GAME FARMThe Family Game Farm is only 2km away from The Farm House. The Game Farm consists of more than 38 species of buck and other wild animals such as zebra, porcupine and bush pig. The owners do a ‘Bushbraai’ where you can enjoy an African menu under the stars . Game drives can be booked when booking with the Farm House.
