Paarl Accommodation / Palmiet Valley Estate Cape Winelands Accommodation / Country Lodge in Paarl

This exclusive country lodge has a history dating back to 1692, the time when the original European settlers and wine growers arrived in the Cape. The 96 acre estate is host to exotic fruit trees and endless vines of noble white grape varieties, such as Chardonnay, Chenin blanc, and Sauvignon blanc.

The homestead is built in the attractive and characteristic Cape Dutch style with accommodation in the two main buildings. With attention to detail Palmiet Valley Estate offers its guests the chram and ambience of a bygone age. The extensive landscaped garden area is surrounded by ancient oak trees, providing privacy and tranquillity for the perfect holiday.

Guests are invited to take a stroll through the estate passing rows of elegant vines extending to the mountains. The secluded pool area provides the opportunity to cool off or relax in the sunshine on a hot day and pockets of shade are plentiful for relaxing under the trees.

Cuisine

Our restaurant is for the exclusive use of lodge guests. For a memorable dining experience we will plan the menu around their personal requirements. Weather permitting, a relaxed breakfast is served outside, under the canopy of the ancient oak and jacaranda trees, or on the terrace overlooking the aromatic herb garden. Alternatively it can be offered in the historical dining room.

Fresh home made fruit juices and preserves accompany our guests choice from the extensive buffet with a variety of cooked dishes to tempt the palate. Menus are changed daily. In the evening our chef creates a delicious three course meal, but for those with a smaller appetite we are happy to prepare something lighter such as a salad or single hot course if preferred - by prior arrangement. We pride ourselves on the use of the freshest ingredients either from the garden or locally sourced.
