All bedrooms have access to the gardens. The 2 large garden rooms (30sqm) have a queen bed and twin bed(s) with a possibility of a sleeper couch for a third person. The rooms in the main house, one with bath the other with shower, have twin and double bed respectively. All rooms have hair dryer, fan heater, coffee tray, radio alarm, wall safe, TV, and of course comfortable beds with fine bed linen. FacilitiesThe public rooms are spacious and well appointed. The interior of Hortensia Lodge is spotlessly clean and guests comment favourably on the interior décor. Sumptious breakfasts are served on an elegantly laid table. The public grounds of Hortensia Lodge are an oasis in the village. Blooming shrubs and manicured lawns with Hortensias (hydrangea hortensis) blooming in profusion are a delight to the senses. Indigenous shrubs attract a variety of birds. Safe off road parking is available on the property. Smoking is permitted outdoors and children over 14 are welcome. Exceptions are made if younger children are able to swim as the salt water pool is not fenced. LocationHortensia Lodge is ideally situated for all those guests who like to get around without using their motor car too often. Golf course, shops, restaurants, the Hermanus Waterfront, the famous cliff-top path along the ocean are all within 500 metres of the Lodge. And so is whale watching (June to November) when the giants of the ocean are plentiful in our Bay. Your HostRolf, the owner of Hortensia Lodge, has a legendary knowledge of South Africa and gladly offers travel advice. Rolf also advises, guides and arranges your itinerary for your stay in Hermanus, so when you leave for your next destination you will leave with wonderful memories of this area.
