Country Cousins is the first stand-alone house available for rental on a daily, weekly or monthly basis in Grahamstown. This fully equipped, 3-bedroom home is set in a large garden and peace and tranquility is assured. Country Cousins was completed as a family home in March 2006, but we decided not to move in, but to establish a unique self catering accommodation establishment as a business for ourselves. We both have an interest in the hospitality industry and have travelled extensively. Those experiences and the expertise that we have from our other chosen careers, that of Travel Agent and Estate Agent, are beneficial to the establishment of this house. The exquisite face brick design coupled with its wooden floors, high pitched roof and quaint dormer windows, led us to establish this as a wonderful "Guest House" for visitors to our lovely city. We decided to start on a smaller scale with "self-catering" accommodation and filled a new market in Grahamstown, the first stand-alone house available for rental on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. ACCOMMODATIONThe house has three bedrooms, but the main bedroom must surely be the best available in Grahamstown based on its stylish design, its huge size with its full en-suite bathroom, private terrace with a marvellous view looking over Rhodes University and the Settler Monument in the distance. Two other smaller but well appointed bedrooms, with two single beds in each, make the house especially appealing to parents from our educational institutions visiting their children and having them stay over in a private home-from-home environment. There is another sleeping area downstairs with two single beds (suitable for larger groups) with its own little lounge although it is not closed off to the rest of the house with a door at this stage. The bathroom downstairs has a bath with a glass enclosure where you can close off the whole bath and be completely private! Both bathrooms have showers. FACILITIESThe house has an upstairs TV lounge closed off on the inner side with a simple banister where you can peer down to the stylishly well designed and fully fitted kitchen. A DSTV system is in place, for those persons who would like to just bring their own smart card! The unique style dining room has double doors leading out onto the beautiful patio with its magnificent view. A small pool room is downstairs with complimentary pool games. A braai (BBQ) facility is supplied for those seeking to have a quiet braai at their home-from-home. NOTESThe house has a large garden where birdlife is encouraged to visit and peace and tranquility is assured. Pets are not permitted at Country Cousins. The house is normally not serviced, although this can be arranged at additional charge and includes morning bedmaking and cleaning of the bathrooms, etc. Our rates are extremely favourable as the whole house can be hired for more or less the same price as a room in another establishment hence our slogan "Why rent a room when you can rent a house".
