Cair Paravel Lakeside Cottages are situated in Magoebaskloof in the scenic Limpopo Province of South Africa. There are two self-catering luxury units in the private gardens of Cair Paravel, home of the Le Feuvres. Come to Africa's Eden, Limpopo Province, and be refreshed and rejuvenated! The property stretches down to Troutwaters Lake and access to trout fishing is available on purchase of a licence. Guided trout fishing at other waters in the area are also offered at additional cost. There are two canoes for the use of our guests, and a sturdy jungle gym near the cottage provides entertainment for children. Hiking, biking, birding, boating or just basking in the lovely garden, provide a refreshing and rejuvenating break from the stress of the city. ACCOMMODATIONTHE COTTAGE: The cottage sleeps 4, one double room with king-size bed, and one room with twin beds. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a gas stove, microwave and washing machine. There is one bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. The lounge/dining area is open plan with DSTV and a fireplace and there is an outdoor braai area. The stoep has a stunning view of the lake and surrounding hills and forests. There is a covered carport. THE GARDEN FLAT: The garden flat is under the main house and has a separate entrance with a covered stoep, from which you have a lovely view of the lake and surrounding hills and forests. There is a portable braai on the stoep, and a covered carport. The flat has a mini kitchen with microwave and gas hob, kettle, toaster and fridge and a breakfast counter. This unit sleeps 2+1. The bedroom/lounge area is comfortably furnished with a king-size bed with electric blankets, and a sleeper couch for a third person and two lounge chairs. DSTV is also provided. The bathroom consists of a shower, basin and toilet. • Both units are non-smoking areas. There are sceptic tanks in both units. • Guests are asked to bring swimming towels, but all other linen is provided. • Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and rusks are provided. • A “self-cook breakfast” can be supplied on request. WHAT TO DO IN THE AREAThere is much to explore in the surrounding area which is a very diverse region. This area is actually the northernmost range of the Drakensberg with the highest mountain in Limpopo, the Iron Crown towering above the village of Haenertsburg, 6 kms from Cair Paravel. In Haenertsburg there are restaurants, coffee shops, a pub,gift shops, interior design shops, speciality foods, and a health shop, as well as the supermarket, "The Foodzone" which has some interesting deli items as well as all the usual groceries you might need. An ATM is available at the Foodzone. The local petrol station and garage is open from 6 am to 8 pm every day. The nearby Ebenezer Dam offers boating, water skiing, yachting, bass fishing, sunset cruises on a houseboat and the annual Ebenezer Mile swim. There are internationally recognised mountain bike races in the surrounding mountains and forests, and there are many hiking trails. BIRDINGIt is a popular birding destination, with the nearby huge indigenous forest, the Woodbush, home to many rare birds. An EWT trained and qualified birding guide, David Letsoalo, is available for interested parties to book for a bird-tour in the Woodbush. From “Cair Paravel Lakeside Cottages” you can take the R71 down the Magoebaskloof Pass which has spectacular views as you drive down the mountain, through the Sepekoe Tea Estates and into the sub-tropical fruit-growing abundance of Tzaneen. The historical cycad forest at Modjadji's Kloof and the opportunity to ride on elephants are worth a visit. From Tzaneen it only takes one and a half hours to the bushveld via the Phalaborwa gate into the Kruger Park. ACCREDITATIONS
