About Zwakala River Retreat

Zwakala River Retreat is situated on a private farm where we offer accommodation in Magoebaskloof in the beautiful Magoebaskloof / Haenertsburg Mountains on the banks of the Broederstroom River.

Fantastic walks and clearly marked cycling routes through forests and private farms in the area. Also trout fishing on the river and in the surrounding area, visits to other establishments such as Wegraakbosch Cheese Farm and the famous Cheerio Gardens just up the road.

There is a variety of accommodation including log cabins and an earthy cottage to choose from. Please see the individual cottage or suite descriptions and photographs below, to assist you with your choice.

What was meant to be a house to harvest Honey from the bees from our farm was turned into this beautifully romantic one bedroom cottage. This cottage has such a magical feel about it and is the perfect space for you to get cosy and cuddle up with someone you love. There is an amazing hot shower that looks out into the bush and a fully equipped kitchen.
