CAR HIRE:
This is by far the most popular way of exploring South and Southern Africa. Roads are
generally good and well sign-posted, with major tourist attractions carefully highlighted.
Be prepared to drive on the left-hand side of the road, at speeds of 60 km per hour in
towns and cities and 100 km to 120 km per hour on national highways. Budget for petrol
costs of R3.50 per litre, with most petrol stations staying open 24 hours a day. In terms
of South African law, petrol cannot be purchased by credit card - you will need to pay
cash.
Cars are available from many locations throughout South Africa including all airports, and
are valid for travel in South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho by prior arrangement. All
one-way rentals are subject to a one-way drop-off fee, and cross-border rentals including
Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe are available by prior arrangement. Click

4x4 RENTALS:
Southern Africa is a 4-wheel drive enthusiast's dream come true. Apart from the many 4x4
trails in South Africa, some of Southern Africas most spectacular scenery and
experiences are only accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicle. The Okavango swamps and Moremi,
Savuti and Chobe Game Reserves of Botswana, the Kalahari Desert, Etosha Pan and Sossusvlei
in Namibia, and Kariba dam and Mana Pools in Zimbabwe are experiences of a lifetime by
4-wheel drive. Please contact us for 4x4 rental rates.
MINI CAMPER RENTALS:
For the more budget-conscious, our 2-wheel drive camper-vans come fully equipped for
camping and out-door living, and are suitable for 2 or 4 passengers. With over 800
registered caravan parks and campsites and 52000 kilometres of tarred roads, South Africa
lends itself to outdoor living. If the rustic, adventurous life-style on a limited budget
is yours, then this is your opportunity. All mini campers can travel cross-border to
Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia by arrangement. |
