This is a bar lounge that tells the tale of the Sophiatown (a once-prominent suburb) of yesteryear, showcasing classical jazz and the pride of a nation. It has a laid-back ambience that is always classy, catering to those that demand only the best.
Sophitatown Bar Lounge is located on the corner of Jeppe and Henry Nxumalo Streets in Newtown and aims to create a laid back atmosphere with a touch of African chic thrown in for good measure. The atmosphere and theme of the bar hails back to the days of Sophiatown and classical jazz' with the bar striving for a great atmosphere and equally great food and service.
So, the next time you are in Newtown why not give Sophiatown Bar Lounge a try; with classic decor, excellent service, delicious food and of course classical jazz what more could you want from an evening out on the (New)town?
