DESCRIPTION:
Situated on the outskirts of Graskop and overlooking the eastern Mpumalanga escarpment you will find our Guest farm. The name “Zur Alten Mine” is German and means "to the old mine" because the property was a former gold claim.
We offer our guest self-catering or bed & breakfast accommodation in a peaceful environment surrounded by forests, excellent for nature lovers and bird watchers.
Accomodation
Our chalets are tastefully decorated with all the day to day amenities to ensure all aspects of your comfort. The 3 chalets are fully equipped for self- catering with fireplace, private veranda or garden, braai facility and en-suite bathroom (shower). In addition we offer a traditional German breakfast (continental) on request in our comfortable breakfast room.
Our Guest farm consists of two beautiful wooden chalets both sleeping up to three people with one bedroom (two single beds) and an extra bed in the lounge. These chalets have a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, mini-stove-oven combination, water cooker, toaster, coffeemaker, crockery, cutlery and cookware. The chalets overlook a small dam with a spectacular view to Gods window adding to the tranquillity of our Guest farm.
Our family cottage can accommodate up to five people in two bedrooms (one double bed and two single beds) and an extra bed in the lounge. The kitchen is also fully equipped with refrigerator, conventional oven and stove, water cooker, toaster, coffeemaker, crockery, cutlery and cookware.
All bed linen, bath towels, hand towels etc. are supplied and the chalets are serviced daily.
ATTRACTIONS
Only a five minute drive and you are in Graskop where you’ll find a supermarket for your daily needs, curio shops dealing in authentic African art and other articles of interest, a petrol station and much more. You will also find some nice restaurants and bars for a quick lunch or a cosy dinner.
Views such as Gods Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and Pilgrim’s Rest are all within easy driving, ideally situated for you to explore the Blyde River Canyon, Kruger National Park and surrounding view points.
Activities
In and around Graskop there are a lot of interesting activities you can discover. Such as:
The Big Swing:
Experience the adrenaline of a 68 metre freefall in less than 3 seconds on one of the world’s highest cable gorge swings or fly across the gorge on a 131 m high wire “foefie slide”, 80 m above ground zero and witness the breathtaking Graskop falls as never seen before.
Quad Bike Trips:
The Mac Mac Quad Trails is an exciting new adventure for quad bike riders that cover some “off the beaten” trails in the picturesque Mpumalanga Escarpment area. Most of these “off the beaten” trails are off limits to the general public.
Canoe-Trips:
Yet another exciting and awesome way to experience the "off the beaten track" beauty of the Mpumalanga Escarpment. Follow the upper Blyde River on a canoe. The start is close to the catchments area of the Blyde River and enjoys spectacular scenery. This is not a white water rafting ride; it is a relaxing canoeing trip through beautiful areas on the Blyde River. The trip is suitable for families.
Other Activities
Hiking
Mountain biking
Golf
Gold Panning
Abseiling
White River Rafting
Horse riding
4x4 Trails
And much more
We look forward to welcoming you as our guests and are sure you will have a pleasant and unforgettable stay at our Guest Farm. |
