Superbly situated on the Mpumalanga Highlands Meander Route - a mere two and a half hours from Johannnesburg - and clasped by the picturesque and historic village of Waterval Boven - gateway to the world-famous Kruger National Park - you are guaranteed a country-village ambience that will soothe your soul.

The Shamrock Arms is unquestionably an ideal stopover for both the business and leisure traveler, whether it is for a relaxing pub lunch or an overnight stay or even longer. It is situated ‘more or less’ half way between OR Tambo Airport (Johannesburg International Airport) and the Kruger National Park. This is of particular interest to travelers arriving at the airport who are keen on the idea of getting some ‘mileage’ behind them on their first day, so that the drive to the park the next day is not so daunting.

In and around Waterval Boven you can do: trout / bass fishing, rock climbing and abseiling, mountain biking and hiking and horse riding.

The Shamrock Arms also offers added value in the form of full-day guided tours to Mpumalanga Province’s most treasured tourist sites. All in the company of your host, Terry, who is an accredited and registered tourist guide.

DIRECTIONS:

FROM OR TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Take the N12 Motorway to Witbank. At Witbank the N12 merges with the N4 to Nelspruit. Continue on the N4 and approximately 3 kilometres after the Machado Toll Plaza take the Waterval Boven turn-off to the right.
Continue for 2.5 kilometres through the business area of the village until you see the Shamrock Arms sign on the right.

FROM PRETORIA
Take the N4 Motorway to Nelspruit. Continue on the N4 from Witbank as above.
