DESCRIPTION:

Janet and John extend a warm welcome to their beautiful country house, tucked away in the mountains at the heart of the Panorama Route, yet only minutes from the amenities of Sabie village and 50km from Kruger National Park.

Perched above an old gold mine and part of the original mining village, Porcupine Ridge is a stylish, informal retreat combining old world charm with modern comforts. The friendly ambiance invites you to relax and unwind, surrounded by rambling gardens, abundant birdlife and glorious mountain scenery. There are lovely walks on the estate, through indigenous bush, grasslands and plantations. Monkeys, duiker, mongoose, bushbabies and other small game may be seen. A spectacular waterfall with a deep pool for swimming is a special delight.

Porcupine Ridge has five immaculate en-suite bedrooms, a welcoming guest lounge with deep, comfy chairs, satellite TV and cosy fireplace, a spacious dining room and two large covered verandahs for relaxation and alfresco meals. Plenty of enclosed parking with lock up parking available if required.

ACCOMMODATION

All the bedrooms have seating areas and beverage trays with teas, coffee, hot chocolate and rusks. Hairdryers, clock radios, ceiling fans, heaters, electric blankets, 2-pin Euro sockets and generous bath sheets are provided in every room. Two superior rooms are extra spacious with lovely views, bar fridges, complimentary sherry and chocolates. Quality queen or twin (3/4) beds have white percale linen with pure silk duvets in summer and cosy duck down duvets in winter. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with either bath, with shower over, or shower only. Each room sleeps two and one has an extra single sleeper couch.

BREAKFAST & DINING

Leisurely English breakfasts comprise a cold buffet of juices, cereals and yoghurts with home-made tropical fruit salad, fresh fruits, nuts and seeds, a variety of breads with muffins or pastries and home-made preserves, complimented by a cooked breakfast with daily variations and interesting options, a choice of teas and locally grown coffee. A Continental selection of cold meats and cheeses can be served on request. Generous packed breakfasts can be provided for ‘early birds’.

A wide selection of eateries from coffee shops and pancake places to steakhouses, pubs and fine-dining restaurants can be found in Sabie and surrounds.
