South African George Skaris has experience in hosting, entertaining and guiding since the 80’s. Having managed and owned a 40 bed ski lodge business in Verbier, Switzerland for many years, George is more than capable of tending to the needs of guests, travellers and tourists from all over the globe, ensuring they receive the finest service, punctuality and professionalism expected from a Tour Operator and Guide.
George is an outgoing personality. He is an accomplished musician and entertainer, an active cyclist (mountain biking as well as road), an avid Harley Davidson Enthusiast and has been riding motorbikes for decades. His driving skills were honed from racing Karts and completing numerous advanced driving courses. He is extremely well travelled, an accomplished snow skier from years living in Verbier and he understands the European culture and traditions. He is fluent in English, Afrikaans and basic French, Dutch and some German.
Skaris Touring owns a Mercedes Vito 7 seater mini bus and a couple of Harley Davidsons. The Mercedes Mini Bus has the necessary South African Road Transport Permit. It is licenced to carry seven tourists, it has tracker, security ‘smash & grab’ on all windows and R 10 million public liability insurance. There is also 24 hour road side assistance on all the vehicles. George is a registered Tourist Guide and is part of CTGA (Cape Town Guides Association) and THETA (Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Education and Training Authority). He also is trained in First Aid and completed a ‘Cape Wine Course’.
Skaris Touring has chosen specific tours to give their visitors the best overview of Cape Town and its surrounds in the most practical fashion and comfort. As the office is in Camps Bay, to get to the city center, airport, winelands, West Coast and Peninsula are very accessible and within close proximity. Skaris Touring is completely flexible and are available to tailor make tours and excursions to suite their visitors.
For the discerning traveller there are tours available to sooth the mature pallet for example historical and cultural areas, city tours, sightseeing and fine dining, winelands and botanical gardens. For families there is more than enough to keep busy and stimulated with boat trips, half and full day tours, animals, safari parks and game reserves. Group Travel & Incentives are part of the portfolio having been affiliated to the South African Travel Agents since the 1990’s. If there is an interest in the sporting side of things they offer mountain and road cycling tours, day tours, hiking, climbing and then extreme activities like shark cage diving, ab sailing and parachuting etc.
Something different perhaps? Harley Davidson Chauffeur rides are offered for day trips or longer, 3 – 6 day rides up the famous Route 62. Company incentive pillion rides for up to 100 passengers can be arranged if required.
