Kruger National Park
The Kruger National Park is situated in the north eastern region of South Africa, most of which lies within Mpumalanga, one of South Africa's nine provinces. The Kruger is one of the largest game reserves in Africa and covers 19,485 square kms(7,523 sq miles) and extends 360 kilometres (220 miles) from north to south and 65 kilometres (40 miles) from east to west.To the west and south of the Kruger National Park are the two South African provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. In the north is Zimbabwe, and to the east is Mozambique.
The Kruger is home to 147 species of mammal, 33 amphibian species, 50 fish species, 115 species of reptiles, 230 species of butterfly, over 500 bird species, 200 species of trees and many different types of botanical wonders.
Open Vehicle Safaris are a true ‘Out of Africa’ experience; the vehicles are specially designed safari vehicles offering comfort with an elevated view of wildlife. Our qualified, professional and personable guides will enthrall you with their knowledge and passion of the bush and its inhabitants. The local Guides, having been born and bred in the environment, their rendition of local folk traditions and culture are recalled from the cradle and they offer a new and fresh perspective of nature and history of this land.
All vehicles are fitted with 2-way radios, enabling communication of the best wildlife sightings You could be a witness to one of nature’s rare sightings such as the ‘Battle at Kruger’, the most watched wildlife clip in the history of YouTube and now a National Geographic documentary. The guide whose guest videoed the incredible scene of events was alerted to the amazing unfolding scene by a colleague on the radio.
If you prefer to escape the elements of the African climate, opt for a private Safari in an air-conditioned eight-seater vehicle - preferably 2-4 guests to ensure window seats for all. Your hosts, John & Ann, both accredited THETA Tour Guides, have specialised in personalised tours for over ten years.
