De Wildt offers you the opportunity to learn more about fascinating creatures such as the wild dog, cheetah and various species of owls and vultures. You can also read more about the humble beginnings of what has become one of the world's foremost institutions on captive breeding of cheetah.
Largely due to the Centre's success, the cheetah was removed from the endangered list of the South African Red Data Book - Terrestrial Mammals in 1986. Following the success of the cheetah programme, several other rare and endangered species have been bred successfully.
Species bred at De Wildt include Cheetah, Wild dogs and other carnivores, Antelope, Birds.
