This tour is for the ardent nature lover and explores the dramatic West Coast as well as the rugged mountains of the Cederberg Wilderness area. The first day is spent along the beautiful but treacherous West Coast with an overnight stay in a cottage virtually right on the beach.The next few days are spent exploring the Cederberg, a rugged and remote mountainous area home to leopard and Bushman painting sites.Escaping the crowds and appreciating nature at it's best is essentialy what this outing is all about.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Cape Town to Paternoster
Leave Cape Town at 09h00 and drive up the West Coast to a reserve where we learn all about the San culture and way of life and view the animals they hunt. Lunch with spectacular Table Mountain as the backdrop. On to LAngebaan and the quaint fishing village of Paternoster.
Overnight: Overnight in beach cottage in Paternoster

Day 2: Paternoster to Clanwilliam
Drive up the remote coastal road to Lamberts Bay, passing the surfing mecca of Elands Bay along the way. Visit the amazing Gannet bird hide. Lunch in a rustic but charming sea-side restaurant. Drive inland and do an eco-tour of a Rooibos tea farm. On to the picturesque town of Clanwilliam.
Overnight: Overnight at a guest house in Clanwilliam.

Day 3: Clanwilliam to Cederberg Wilderness Area
Drive along the beautiful Clanwilliam Dam and Olifants River valley and up into the mountains. Visit the remote Cederberg winery. Picnic lunch next to a crystal clear river. Swim? Visit amazing rock formations and view San rock art. On to guest lodge where one can swim, hike, horse ride, etc.
Overnight: Overnight in country guest house in Cederberg Wilderness area

Day 4: Cederberg Wilderness Area to Cape Town
Drive south through the mountains and fruit orchards to Ceres. Lunch at a country tea garden. Cross over the dramatic Baines Kloof Pass to Wellington.Visit an excellent winery in the area for wine tasting. On towards the welcoming sight of Table Mountain in the distance, arriving in Cape Town at approximately 17h00.
