Itinerary:
If you don't have time to visit Kruger Park, we can offer a shorter safari to the Pilanesberg National Park, which is a two-hour drive from Johannesburg and is next to Sun City. The Pilansberg is a unique area where, after massive volcanic upheavals, a natural basin was created within a ring of mountains. The Pilansberg's magic can be found in it's unique geology, it's ancient history and the diversity of wild life, game and birds. For overnight stays, there is a choice of accommodation at Manyane Resort, situated at the gateway to the Pilansberg, or at Bakgatla Resort at the foot of Garamoga Hill. The Pilansberg is malaria free.

Other places of interest on the route to Pilanesberg: The Cradle of Humankind is unique in that since 1947, there have been great scientific discoveries, which have been a breakthrough in the search for the origins of mankind. Embedded in the rocks, found in the numerous dolomitic caves in the area are fossilised remains of hominids and fossils of other plants and animals giving a complete picture of the hominids and their surroundings dating back over 3.3 million years. Sterkfontein Caves is the discovery site of Mrs Ples (Plesianthropus Transvaalensis) and is described as the anthropological treasure house of the world. On the other side of Haartebeestpoort Dam is the De Wildt Cheetah and Wildlife Centre where cheetah, the king cheetah, wild dogs, and other endangered species are being bred successfully.
