Controversial cartoonist Zapiro will be decorating a surfboard, along with other well-known artists such as Guy Tillim, Brett Murray and Richard Scott, that will be exhibited from December 1st to 8th at the Field Office, in Barrack Street, Cape Town, and auctioned for charity on Thursday 8th December.
The art exhibition is part of the 7th edition of the Wavescape Film Festival, which is presented by Pick 'n Pay. The 2011 festival features an open air screening on Clifton 4th Beach, and indoor screenings at venues in Kalk Bay and the city bowl.
Films this year include the avant garde production Year Zero, as well as hot surfing movies Leave a Message, Minds in the Water and Come Hell or High Water. Wavescape also screens the amazing Art of Flight snowboarding movie and MTB film Life Cycles.
An international premiere of a film about Surfers and Sharks will take place at the Labia cinema in Orange Street on Friday, 16th December, also to be screened the amazing proudly South African production by Jason Hearn called The Africa Project.
