Spring it on Constantia

Where: Constantia

Aside from the initial reputation Constantia established for producing world-famous dessert wines, its more recent fame has been associated with fine quality white wines, particularly those made from Sauvignon Blanc, which tend to display hallmark Constantia character of mineral, citrus fruit and floral notes. Lately the Constantia Valley has become synonymous with the production of classically styled red wines thanks to our position on the Cape Peninsula and the benefit this cool maritime climate lends to the production of fine wines.
In addition to our reputation for wines the Constantia Valley is also recognised for its fine restaurants with highly acclaimed chefs at the helm; La Colombe at Constantia Uitsig, The Greenhouse Restaurant at the Cellars-Hohenort, Buitenverwachting Restaurant at Buitenverwachting, Catharina's at Steenberg Hotel and more recently the hugely popular Bistro 1682 at Steenberg Vineyards. The Constantia Valley also boasts a fantastic choice of of lesser known but long established restaurants all of whom enjoy a loyal local clientele, a true testimony to good food and service.
